A book a week in 2025!!!!
Hello Everyone, its been a while with a trip away and deadlines occupying my time but I'm back and better than ever!
Today i thought it would be fun to talk about reading goals and my own personal goal for 2025 which is to read a book a week. I know people find new years resolutions pointless and unattainable, but reading is a really good hobby to work into the year.
What's most important when setting these goals for yourself is making sure they are actually attainable and also catering them to your lifestyle and what is likely you could actually achieve. Ever since downloading Goodreads ,which is basically an online book journal for you to log the books you're reading and progress, i have read far more books then i ever did before. I think its because its fun to fill up your library on your phone and also to achieve the goal you set yourself. With Goodreads it lets you set a yearly challenge of how many books you are aiming to read. Last year being my first year i made a guestimate of 40 books and achieved 32, only having the app for half the year and you could definitely see a difference with how much i read in the second half.
This year i wanted to go that extra mile and so have decided on 52 books, one for each week of the year. I am currently on book 20 which is 2 ahead of schedule as we are in week 18 give or take. This year is honestly flying by its CRAZY. So yes even though 52 books felt like a lot i knew it was something i could achieve. I don't even read excessively in my spare time. Most of my reading takes place on transport or on holiday. Everyday to and from work i read at least 50 pages across my journeys and this of course adds up.
SO for those of you who claim you don't have time for reading I'm sure there is a moment in your day when you could get a couple of pages in. Everyone can read at least one book a year! So i thought i would give you a little recap of my reading year so far with my own rating and a one line review to give you some ideas of what to read and what not to read and also so you can get to know about what i like to read in my spare time!
